And So I Say Farewell

The past few months have been full of growth and joy. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing a few blog posts every month and am thankful for the opportunity to share. The Lord has used this tool to refine me and challenge me to be more like Him.

As I write this last post, my thoughts are flooded with things that I could write about that could be encouraging and beneficial for readers. But I believe the thing I need to share is the greatest thing that God has taught me over the past six months: trust.

Jesus Christ is sovereign over all and He has authority over all of heaven and earth. What a mighty God, right?! With this knowledge, how can we not trust in His plans for our lives? Most of us are just embarking on our journey into the “real world” and have our entire lives ahead of us. We have so many things to look forward to like marriage, children, homes, careers, and so much more. The Lord is good and desires to give good things to those who love Him.

Being the planner I am, I often have a hard time giving Him control over every aspect of my life. But when I do, it’s always worth it. I know we hear this all the time and it’s a bit cliché, but His plans are better than our plans and He does in fact know best. When we surrender every aspect of our lives to the One who gave us life, we can finally live the abundant life. No, we won’t receive everything we want but we will have so much more than we could ask or imagine.

I leave you with a charge to examine yourself and see what areas that you’re not giving Him complete control. Why not? When we give ourselves wholly to Him, we experience peace and freedom like none other. Trust Him—He won’t let you down!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6). (SO true!)
