Packing and Praying

Diapers? Check.

Toys? Check.

Pacifier? Check.

Baby food? Check.

Beloved stuffed puppy Elisha can’t (or won’t) sleep without? CHECK!

This morning, I’m working my way down a mile-long packing list and a to-do list that seems even longer. And I’m praying . . . OH, how I am praying!

Paul, Elisha, and I are getting ready for a big weekend, one that we’ve looked forward to and prayed about for months now. This weekend will be intense—full of meetings and interviews with people we have yet to meet. And a few weeks following this weekend, we’ll learn if God is closing the door to the path our family is so passionately pursuing . . . or swinging it wide open. We know God has called us to take part in the glorious task of carrying His gospel to all nations, and we’re excited about the possibility of beginning to learn when, where, how, and with whom.

I don’t know what crossroads you might be facing, or what trials may lie before you. But I do know that as this weekend draws nearer, God’s Word has been an incredible source of comfort and joy for our family.

Here are just a few of the glorious truths I am clinging to today, and everyday:

There’s no need to fear. He’s always with me, giving me strength and help!

“Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10 ESV).

It’s not about me; it’s ALL about Jesus!

"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (Romans 4:5-6 ESV).

We love God, He loves us & His perfect plan WILL prevail!

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 ESV).
